How to Get Pre-Alpha Access to Stars Reach
The galaxy of Stars Reach is online! Getting into a pre-alpha test is a unique opportunity to see a game in its earliest stages and help shape its future. This guide will walk you through the two primary paths to joining the Stars Reach pre-alpha.
The Two Paths to the Stars
Currently, Playable Worlds has provided two main ways for prospective players register for access. While both can get you in, one offers a more direct, priority route.
- The Kickstarter Path: Backing the project on Kickstarter.
- The Website Signup: Registering your interest on the official Stars Reach website.
Path 1: The Kickstarter Backer (The Priority Lane)
The most direct way to secure a spot in the closed testing phases is by supporting the game on Kickstarter. This is the method for players who are committed to the project and want to be at the front of the line. The Kickstarter campain has ended, however, they are still accepting late backers.
To guarantee your spot, you must back the project at the "Reacher" tier or higher (which starts at $33). According to the developers, this will place you ahead of the general signup pool when testing cohorts are selected.

After backing, be sure to fill out the survey in the link sent to you by Kickstarter. This survey covers information regarding your backing rewards and email for digital rewards. You will then need to wait for an email from firstlook.gg. This email will contain instructions for joining the pre-alpha testing. It may take a couple of weeks to receive this email. Be sure to check your spam folder if you don't see it in your inbox. You can also try asking about your status in the Kickstarter channel of their Discord server.
Path 2: The Website Signup (The General Pool)
If you prefer not to back the project on Kickstarter you can still sign up for a chance to be selected for testing via the official website. This places you in a general pool of potential testers.
It's important to manage expectations with this route. While the developers will be pulling players from this list, access is not guaranteed, and you may be invited to a later testing phase than the Kickstarter backers.

What to Expect as a Pre-Alpha Tester
Remember, "pre-alpha" means the game is still in a very early stage of development. As a tester, your role is not just to play, but to help the developers. You should expect bugs, incomplete features, server wipes, and performance issues. The goal is to provide constructive feedback to help the team build a better game.
Good luck, and we hope to see you in the galaxy!
